We have been with IX since July 2003.

Frequent email blackouts and more site downtime than we feel is acceptable.

We switched to IX as its owner (Fathi Said) left his previous company (featureprice.com) to form IX. We were hosted by THAT company which, sadly, had similar issues as we continue to find with IX. He emailed all Featureprice customers (questionable ethics if not legality) to woo them, which worked on us.

Out of one frying pan into another.

Technical support (which is outsourced) is terrible. We’re very computer literate, and find they can only handle boilerplate until you scream loud enough to escalate.

They “guarantee” 1 hour response to “trouble tickets” but NONE of the many we have submitted have been touched in less than many hours, and in many cases DAYS. And when the respond, they tend to ignore what we’ve said (again, boilerplate).

“Live Chat” is useless; being in (we believe) India, they have NO idea what is happening to the systems in Kentucky. The mantra is “Looks OK here. We’ll notify the administrator”.

To this day (5/04) they have NEVER credited us for ANY down time let alone apologize for the aggravation. Shouldn’t 2 or 3 days of either Web site or email service disruption cause at least aggravation???

Price is the ONLY thing going here, but in this case, you get what you pay for.

I actually didn’t stay with this host for more than a week… They were terrible. They never knew what they were talking about in the chat, they only offered ONE MySQL database (didn’t advertise that very well), and they had the crappiest control panel I’ve ever seen. I moved to Vizaweb (thankfully), but IX was too stupid to transfer my domain name to Vizaweb. Vizaweb contacted them probably 100 times before IX finally surrendered and gave up my domain. IX was claiming that they didn’t use domain name secrets (all hosts do, however).

Hi,i have been with this company for almost 2 years now,and can overall rate them good,i have seent heir customer support and it is pretty excellent and i was really satisfied when got immediate responce from live chat and i must confess they have a pretty good tech support team,i have signed for a linux plan and i have been using unlimited email service with almost neglagable problems.Guys if you ask me you all need to go for ixwebhosting amd i am sure you all will be satisfied. i ahve been using php and mysql database also and i am very happy and webmail works pretty fine for me


I definitely agree you get what you pay for. IXWebHosting boasts a lot. 99.9% up time, 1 hour response, fast performance, powerfull control panel. I have only used them a week and have already experience several outages. So I have started monitoring. I expect I will measure about 95% uptime, but time will tell. Rarely do they respond to trouble tickets in less than 12 hours, but critical outages are fixed sooner than that. For the first few days the control panel failed regularly. They claimed to have fixed the problem, and I have only seen one momentary failure since.

But while the service is sadly lacking, it is better than what I have gotten from other comparably priced providers. The quality is not good enough for me to recommend ixwebhosting to others, but not so low as to want to move my domain to another provider.

They send you an email saying your domain needs to be renewed, and if you aren’t paying attention you will realize they mean “renew” on a xxxxxxx.info domain that you have never registered. It is a trick to try to get you to renew a domain you never wanted because YOU THINK its your xxxxxxx.com domain.

I started an ixwebhosting account in early September, and here it is only at the end of September, and I have found myself very upset with their customer service department and service. I have recieved several complaints from my colleagues about our website being down for hours upon end, day after day. I have spoken to a few reps regarding terminating service, and all of them couldn’t give me a legit explaination on why I have to email them to cancel my account rather then phone the request in. I gather it’s because there isn’t any other reason other then being able to hold onto my money until the “30 day refund policy” ends. To make a long story short, my money has still not be refunded to my account and my account is still active. I threatened a couple of times to report them to a better business bureau, however both times it didn’t seem to phase them. I even went so far as to tell them that I am more then willing to bring legal action if I don’t recieve a response from them with-in 24 hours, that was 2 days ago.

I had horrible experience with IX webhosting… Their customer service is very bad and irresposible… everytime I tried to call, I had to wait over one hour. Also, their billing department is a mess. I with there’s a rating below 1! Very upsetting… please do not choose these guys!

ixwebhosting.com Worst hosting company I have ever seen. They wont address issues quickly. Site security is low (ours was infected by virus), and there is NO SENSE OF URGENCY when your site goes down. (Ours has been down for 9 hours now and they promised to have issue fixed in 2).

Stay away from ixwebhosting!

We have regular email blackout, and they simply deny the problem even though the guy on live-chat saw it too (he emailed me later checked if the email arrived and it never did). Still, to them, that’s a “problem solved”!!!

Need to find a better web hosting service soon, and before I loose more business because of ixwebhosting. I only wish I did more research on the web before I decided to take my site to ixwebhosting.

To all the IX webhosting customers. I want you guys to use your email account (The one from IX hosting) to send a message to any hotmail or yahoo addresses. Guess what, It never works! Something is so wrong that you can’t send a message? I have tried so many times to contact IX, and they keep saying the same shit… (Server is having some difficulty). I am using that email account for business and now it starts hurting my business because of this. People with hotmail, yahoo, and etc addresses are not receiving any email from me. It is extremely inconvenient….. Try it, you’ll know what I mean.
I’m planning a law suit, please join me if you’re interested.

IXwebhosting.com is infected with virus, stay away if not google will black list you. My 5 website was suspended from Google adwords bcs of spraying virus.

I’ve also had issues with ixwebhosting and viruses. The annoying part is that they don’t accept ANY responsibility for problems that are clearly at their end. I also find that they aren’t open with their customers, and never own up to a mistake, or admit a security breech, so you’re left wondering what happened, with no answers forthcoming.
